About the role

Join the dedicated team at Cate's Chemist as an Automation Operator. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional technical support to ensure the smooth running of automation in support of medication packing operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong digital competency, attention to detail, and a passion for efficiency in production.

You'll begin by mastering the operation of a robot and associated digital systems. With proven capability, there is scope for advancement into a leadership role, overseeing a small team and contributing to workflow optimisation.

What you'll be doing


• Operate and monitor the medication packing robot to ensure accuracy and compliance


• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality checks


• Manage digital workflows, inventory systems, and reporting tools


• Collaborate with pharmacists and support staff to streamline processes


• Uphold safety, compliance, and quality standards


• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in automation and team efficiency

This role offers a clear pathway to Team Leader, where you will:


• Supervise a small team


• Coordinate workflow and scheduling


• Support training and development of new staff


• Play a key role in advancing automation and compliance standards across the group

What we're looking for


• Strong digital literacy (M365, Google Workspace, or equivalent business systems)


• Technical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automated systems


• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment


• Previous experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or technical operations is desirable but not essential


• Must have Australian work rights for this position
