Major State Government organisation is on the lookout for Infrastructure Business Analyst.

Your new role

The Technical Business Analyst will support the successful delivery of the major Transition Project by conducting structured discovery and analysis across diverse school environments and documenting technical and operational requirements needed to transition local services to Department-managed platforms.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and perform school infrastructure discovery (onsite and/or remotely), capturing current state across identity, networking, device, and core services
• Document school profiles, including installed applications, user authentication methods, device types, existing MDM usage, and file/print setups
• Maintain the Transition Tracker(in Jira) and ensure data integrity across documentation artefacts
• Contribute to the development of dashboards or visual reporting tools to support migration visibility, readiness, and completion tracking
• Assist in the identification of technical variances, exceptions, or risks to standard migration pathways
• Support L2/L3 Engineers by collecting configuration data, screenshots, logs, or access as needed
• Engage with school IT personnel to validate findings and clarify migration requirements
• Populate and maintain transition artefacts: (Runsheets,Discovery summaries and templates, Exception logs, Transition readiness checklists, Migration summaries)
• Assist with maintaining detailed technical Runsheets for each school, including structured capture of configuration details, exceptions, and progress tracking
• Help enhance the structure of tracking tables and artefacts to ensure data is captured in a structured and reusable format
• Support data collection and analysis of school environments, identifying common patterns, dependencies, and challenges
• Support the tracking of Risk & issue resolution and escalation items during school transitions
• Support issue grouping and tagging to identify and surface common or recurring risks across schools, helping inform proactive mitigation strategies
• Maintain documentation and version control of technical patterns, FAQs, and support playbooks

What you'll need to succeed

• 3-5 years of experience as Tech Analyst within the infrastructure domain. Exposure to Infrastructure / platform engineering (Windows Server, Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Print/File servers)
• Familiarity with infrastructure technologies: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MDM Technology e.g (Intune, JAMF, Google Admin), wireless networking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate technical information into clear documentation
• Ability to gather and collate information into structured data. Create Structured data templates to streamline data discovery for school as the project progresses.
• Strong capability with Jira, Confluence, Excel SharePoint, and ServiceNow.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical teams in large, distributed IT environments
• Ability to manage multiple school profiles and transition artefacts simultaneously
• Experience in infrastructure discovery, system auditing, or deployment support is highly desirable
• Proactive approach to tracking, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement.
