About the Role
FSG is looking for a Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Brisbane team of geotechnical professionals.
The role will involve design, analysis and reporting relating to geotechnical services which may include:
- Soil-structure interaction;
- Advanced 2D and 3D finite element modelling for:
- Complex slope stability analysis;
- Deep foundation and retention systems;
- Tunnels and shafts;
- ground improvement; and
- temporary works.
The role will also involve a range of responsibilities including:
- complex geotechnical analysis using a range of software packages;
- writing of reports and proposals, for review by more senior engineers;
- project management of smaller geotechnical projects;
- supervision, coordination and review of activities carried out by junior engineers; and
- safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards and the implementation of company OHSE systems.
Skills and Experience
The role requires the following attributes & experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with post-graduate training an advantage.
- Masters degree in geotechnical engineering.
- CPEng and RPEQ registrations are required, or eligible for registration if international.
- A proven track record of solving complex geotechnical problems and familiarity with standards and methods applicable to geotechnical design.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to clearly articulate geotechnical advice in both reports and drawings.
- Team oriented and ability to interact successfully with people in a range of industry positions and roles.
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
- Ability to manage projects and interact with clients.
- A full driver's licence.
The base salary for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
