Brisbane Queensland Australia Siecap Pty Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About Siecap

Siecap is a specialist project management and advisory firm, delivering integrated, end-to-end solutions across diverse industries. Backed by a team of accomplished professionals, we have successfully delivered projects of all sizes and complexities for some of the world's leading organisations.

In the water sector, we support organisations by embedding expertise, strengthening procurement and operational delivery capability, and providing practical, outcome-driven solutions to manage risk, improve performance, and build resilience.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator – Chemicals to join our Brisbane-based Water Sector team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to and manage high-impact client supply chain operations across demand planning and forecasting, inventory management, tank storage management, replenishment scheduling and ordering, and supplier engagement.

The Role

As a Logistics Coordinator – Chemicals, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of water treatment plants through the uninterrupted supply and inventory management of chemicals on-site and at supplier locations. You'll work across the end-to-end chemical value chain, including demand planning and forecasting, inventory and replenishment management, tank storage management, reporting, process governance, and supplier engagement.

This role is ideal for a seasoned demand planner or logistics coordinator with experience in bulk chemical management or the management of other critical input materials. It would particularly suit a "roll-up-your-sleeves" operator who thrives on being on the ground, understands the practical realities of chemical logistics, and operates under high safety and compliance standards. You'll be someone who's across the details, comfortable in hi-vis, and able to bring people and processes together to drive operational improvements. At the same time, you'll have a strategic view of supply chain performance and resilience, acting as the conduit between water treatment plant operators and supervisors across multiple geographically dispersed locations and key suppliers of critical water treatment chemicals—especially during periods of fluctuating seasonal demand.

Whether you're already operating at a supervisor or coordinator level or looking to transition into a leadership role, we will support your growth and development. You'll have the opportunity to make your mark, shape the role, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the evolution of our managed services practice.

Key Responsibilities

Coordination & Supplier Engagement

• Liaise with water treatment plant operators/supervisors and suppliers.

• Monitor shipments and inventory levels.

• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with chemical handling regulations.

Demand Planning & Forecasting

• Develop and maintain aggregate demand forecasts using statistical analysis and historical data, supported by an analyst.

• Provide short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts with insights into trends and seasonality.

• Convert event simulation and sensing data into event-based forecasts and communicate impacts to stakeholders.

Inventory & Tank Storage Management

• Set and manage inventory levels (cycle, safety, and seasonal) by chemical and tank/site.

• Balance chemical availability and plant uptime with supply chain efficiency and resilience.

• Oversee tank storage operations, including chemical receipt and proper storage.

• Recommend tank augmentation and equipment upgrades.

• Govern inventory control processes and resolve discrepancies.

Ordering & Replenishment Management

• Plan, monitor, and manage chemical ordering and replenishment (supported by supplier telemetry).

• Schedule deliveries and shipments with suppliers.

• Identify cost-effective and efficient transport routes and options.

Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure logistics processes comply with industry regulations and safety standards.

• Ensure all shipping documents and compliance paperwork are received and recorded.

• Optimise logistics costs while maintaining safety and resilience.

• Analyse logistics processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

• Resolve shipment and inventory issues promptly and manage supplier disputes to avoid escalation.

• Provide updates and gather feedback from internal departments, customers, and external partners.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, analytics, or a related field.

• 5–10 years' experience in demand planning and/or logistics coordination.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.

• Proficient in Excel and Power BI; strong analytical skills.

• Sound computer skills, including knowledge of SCADA and telemetry systems.

• Excellent written communication, time management, and self-motivation.

• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and respond to emergency situations.

• Willingness to undertake training as required.
