The Senior Agile Business Analyst, reporting to the BA Practice Lead, works within the Australia Post
Sending Platform
Agile teams
to manage the complete solution lifecycle, from requirements definition to delivery. This role collaborates closely with key business stakeholders to support idea development, feature elaboration, prioritization, and delivery. The Senior Agile Business Analyst ensures that business requirements are captured and documented consistently, comprehensively, and effectively.
Additionally, the Senior Agile Business Analyst provides guidance on Agile processes and practices, helping the development team clearly understand the requirements and ensuring the delivered solution creates value for the business or the customer.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Over 5 years of experience as a
Senior Agile
BA and more than
10 years as a Business Analyst
. - Extensive experience working with
Agile/Scrum
Web development team - Experience in technical analysis including interpreting, executing and analysing API request and response structures using
Postman
to validate functionality, data integrity and assist in the design and delivery process. - Strong expertise in
Customer Journey Mapping/Story mapping
facilitation and
scope slicing
to enable iterative value delivery. - Proven ability to produce high-quality user stories with sufficient analysis and detail for the business and development team to understand what is required.
- Experienced in coordinating with delivery teams for
PI planning activities
, kick-offs, desk checks, and showcases to ensure alignment in an
Agile environment
. - Proven ability to collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop feature hypotheses and metrics.
- Skilled in presenting feature briefs and leading feature estimation with delivery teams.
- Demonstrated experience in system impact analysis to support various initiatives during the discovery phase.
- IIBA
and
Agile/SAFe certifications
are advantageous.
About You
You will also have natural curiosity demonstrated by knowledge of technology trends and a desire to maintain currency of knowledge and to continually learn, particularly out of the-box. Needless to say, you will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders, and drive change.
In addition, you'll
- Leading requirement definition and estimation
- Leading story creation and estimation in JIRA with developers in the team
- Story kickoffs and walkthroughs with developers in the team
- Story quality assurance checks in JIRA and feedback to team members with improvement advice
- Feature, Epic and Story elaboration assistance
- Contribute to project briefs – identifying benefits associated with particular pieces of work, operational dependencies, and establish appropriate proposals to clearly articulate the requirements.
- Provide high-level evaluation of requirements for business programs and projects, which includes business process re-engineering, cost-benefit analysis, recommended solutions and business requirements development. Verifies and validates at senior levels of the business.
- Engage the business user community to ensure that it has been consulted in the preparation of project briefs, business requirements and process re-engineering.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing.
- Develop documentation that correctly reflects current functionality, operating procedures and processes.
- Facilitate and participate in discussions between the business area and the service provider to achieve practical, timely and high value solutions.
- Identify business-related risks, issues and dependencies in the development of the solution.
- Maintain awareness of current Information Security standards and ensures all activities comply with the standards.
- Demonstrate enough consideration of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by business requirements.
- Contribute to BA Craft to uplift the Business Analysis Capability
- Mentoring of 1- 3 other business analysts.
