Job Summary

Hyegrove is seeking an experienced Food Services Assistant Supervisor to join our hospitality team on a Full-Time basis. In this leadership role, you will oversee day-to-day catering operations, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and provide hands-on support to the catering team. You will lead by example with a positive, professional attitude and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our residents and their guests.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise and support the Food Services Assistants in daily operations

• Coordinate with the Head Chef to ensure efficient preparation and timely delivery of meals

• Monitor adherence to meal reports, dietary requirements, and work schedules

• Ensure compliance with food safety and infection control practices

• Oversee cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and dining areas, including dishwashing and waste management

• Train and mentor new team members, providing ongoing guidance and support

• Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, working as part of the wider interdisciplinary care team

• Engage with residents to enhance their dining experience, ensuring meals are presented and served with care

About You

• Previous experience in food services within aged care, healthcare, or hospitality (supervisory experience highly regarded)

• Strong leadership, organisational and time-management skills

• Current Basic Food Safety Certificate (required – must be current or obtained within 1 month of joining)

• Compassionate, empathetic, and resident-focused approach

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, safe handling, storage, and infection control practices

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and interact effectively with residents, staff, and visitors

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high service standards
