Company Description

The Australian Maths Trust (AMT) is a national not-for-profit organisation with a vision to cultivate a nation of creative problem solvers. AMT administers mathematics and informatics competitions, enrichment activities, and workshops for students and teachers, and publishes books aimed at mathematical and informatics enrichment. In addition, AMT selects and supports Australia's international mathematics and informatics Olympiad teams.

Role Description

The AMT is looking for an educator with subject expertise in computer programming and algorithmic thinking to provide leadership in the development of competition and resource materials in these areas. This will be a full-time (or substantial part-time) position.

Required skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of pedagogy and experience in the teaching of K – 12 and digital technologies in the Australian educational system
  • Demonstrated excellence in, and passion for, the teaching and advocacy of algorithmic problem-solving within the educational ecosystem
  • S

trong communication skills, including the ability to lead collaborative problem solving to align competing perspectives
- Capability to create algorithmic/computational tasks suitable for inclusion in the Bebras Challenge related programs
- Ability to write programming tasks at the level of the AMT's open programming competitions.
