What You'll Be Doing
This position will help protect Aboriginal community members against vaccine-preventable diseases by talking, giving education and support to Aboriginal people and families on where to obtain immunisation services. This position will access the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) data for Aboriginal child immunisation records, build relationships between relevant parties (including communities, parents, Aboriginal Medical Services, immunisation providers and other stakeholders) and assist in the delivery of strategies to improve Aboriginal immunisation coverage.

As an Aboriginal Immunisation Health Officer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between the health system and Aboriginal people, helping clients navigate complex health and social service systems with cultural safety, compassion, and respect.

About You
You have a background in nursing, Aboriginal health work, or public health.

You have an understanding of the importance of immunisation for Aboriginal people and families.

Excellent case management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

You have excellent communication and cross-cultural skills, with a compassionate, person-centred approach to supporting clients, carers, and families.

You have Deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, health challenges, and community structures.
