We are a market leader in hydraulic and pneumatic tool service, repair, calibration, and asset management, with workshops in Newman and Jandakot. As an authorised partner for Enerpac, Huck, CP, and Safe Gauge, we set the benchmark in WA for safety, quality, and compliance.
This is a hands-on role and we are looking for a Lead Technician to join our Jandakot workshop and lead and mentor a small team of technicians. This role is suited to a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter with prior experience in hydraulics and pneumatic tooling service and repairs who can set the benchmark for safety, quality and team culture and help shape the next generation of technicians.
The Role
- Lead by example in safety and workshop organisation, cleanliness, and repair quality.
- Mentor, coach, develop and motivate technicians while building skills and capability.
- Diagnose, service, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic tools including cylinders, heavy lift jacks, hydraulic pumps, grease pumps, and battery torque equipment.
- Manage labour hours and daily workflow to achieve repair KPI's and timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards and customer expectations.
- Apply practical 5S and Lean principles to drive productivity while developing technician capability.
- Foster excellent communication across supply chain, customer service and internal sales teams to help exceed KPI targets.
- Drive a culture where 'close enough isn't good enough' is the standard.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, backed by AHPC's proprietary Shield compliance and asset management system.
About You
- Trade certificate in fitter/machinist qualification or Cert III Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' mechanical fitting experience with hydraulic/pneumatic tool fault-finding and repair.
- Familiarity with leading brands such as Enerpac, Huck, CP, and Safe Gauge would be highly advantageous.
Leadership ability with a track record of mentoring, coaching and developing teams.
A safety-first mindset is a must have.
- LF Forklift license.
- Hydraulics repairs/diagnostics/certificates and training a major advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office and tablet use.
- Experience applying Lean/5S principles in a workshop environment would be highly regarded.
- Ability multi task and juggle priorities to meet customer expectations.
- Excellent communicator who can coordinate effectively across departments.
- A natural leader who thrives on teamwork and building a culture of "stronger together".
