Sydney, New South Wales, Australia TransGrid Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Project EnergyConnect (PEC) is Australia's largest electricity transmission project, now entering its final 12 months of delivery. Delivered by Transgrid in partnership with ElectraNet, the $1.8 billion project involves a new 900 km interconnector between Wagga Wagga in NSW and Robertstown in South Australia, with a connection to Red Cliffs in Victoria. PEC will unlock up to 5,000 MW of renewable generation, deliver $4 billion in benefits to consumers, and strengthen the National Electricity Market by improving reliability, reducing power prices, and cutting emissions. At Transgrid, our Major Projects team is proud to be delivering this once-in-a-generation project, enabling Australia's clean energy future.

About the Role

We are seeking an Environment and Sustainability Manager to lead the delivery of environmental and sustainability outcomes across our Project EnergyConnect (PEC) project. Reporting to the Project Director, you'll manage a dedicated team, collaborate with Delivery Partners, and work closely with regulators to ensure compliance and achieve positive sustainability outcomes on one of Australia's most significant infrastructure projects.

About You

You bring technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A natural team player, you thrive in complex project environments and are motivated to drive meaningful sustainability outcomes.

  • Qualifications in environmental planning, management, science, or engineering, with practical experience applying this knowledge in project delivery
  • Proven success leading environmental outcomes on large infrastructure or energy projects, balancing compliance and innovation
  • Experience managing and developing teams, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with regulators, government agencies, and delivery partners
  • A collaborative, resilient, and solutions-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to sustainability and positive project outcomes.

Reward and Recognition

We believe in providing our people with personal, professional, and social benefits so they can deliver their best work each and every day. Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, and health & wellbeing, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks of paid parental leave, and more.

Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and ongoing training, workplace mentoring, and tertiary education. At Transgrid, you are encouraged to build a career that's right for you.
