We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior Editor within our Curriculum directorate.
Location: Parramatta, with some access to various NSW Education offices and flexible working arrangements available
Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 with base salary ranging from $129,464 to $142,665 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the Curriculum directorate
The Curriculum directorate is responsible for supporting the implementation of policies and design of high-quality evidence-based resources and tools to support curriculum implementation across P-12. We coordinate special programs, and we lead the department's response to the NSW Curriculum Reform.
About the role
The Senior Editor leads the delivery of high-quality print and digital publications that meet departmental standards and support teaching and learning across NSW. The role combines editorial expertise with team leadership, ensuring accessibility, clarity and consistency across all outputs. It plays a key role in shaping content strategy, managing high –volume and –paced environments, and guiding best practice editorial processes across a skilled team.

About you
You are an experienced editor with an excellent eye for detail, a deep understanding of publishing standards, including accessibility, and a commitment to delivering clear, inclusive content. You're confident leading teams and processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency and quality across multiple deliverables. You collaborate with ease, building strong relationships across teams and navigating stakeholder priorities with professionalism and clarity. With a calm, solutions-focused mindset, you lead others through complexity, support continuous improvement, and bring a steady hand to fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Key knowledge and experience:
Comprehensive knowledge of editing and publication standards (including accessibility and copyright) and software.
Proven experience in editing and publication on end-to-end projects.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements:
Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
