About the role

Our Swimming Instructors are an integral part of the Learn to Swim team and ensures that our students are taught life saving skills along with a sense of achievement. There are multiple casual opportunities for experienced instructors who have all required qualifications.

To thrive in this role, you will bring your high level of customer service and your enthusiasm to help students learn and grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct swimming lessons for individuals or groups, focusing on stroke development, water safety, and overall swimming skills.
  • Create and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of participants.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment by enforcing pool rules and maintaining constant supervision during lessons.
  • Evaluate participants' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their swimming abilities.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting swimming events, such as competitions or water safety programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents that occur during lessons.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues to address any concerns or provide updates on progress.
  • Stay updated on the latest swimming techniques, safety protocols, and industry trends through continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Swimming Instructor or lifeguard with a strong knowledge of swimming techniques and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Current lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid and Working With Vulnerable People certification.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and execute swimming lessons effectively.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching swimming to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate participants' schedules.
