Sunshine Coast, Australia Youi Insurance Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Work, but more You-shaped.

At Youi, we design careers with people at the heart. This newly created Head of Home Assessing position has emerged from our continued growth and offers the chance to make a real impact in a fast-evolving space

Based at our Head Office in Sippy Downs, this role will see you lead our Home Assessing function – both in the field and behind the scenes. You'll help guide how we deliver fair, accurate and timely assessments for home claims, and play a key role in shaping the culture and direction of your team.

You'll be joining our senior leadership group, working alongside people who back each other, stay curious, and want to build something that's truly different in the insurance space.

If you're someone who leads with heart, loves growing people, and wants to leave things better than you found them – we'd love to meet you.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and develop the Home Assessing team (field and desktop), creating a supportive and high-performing environment
  • Ensure all assessments are completed accurately, fairly and in line with our standards, repair guidelines and Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)
  • Oversee triage and resource deployment across regions to ensure fast response times and cost-effective outcomes
  • Manage escalations and complex assessment decisions, partnering closely with Claims leadership
  • Set and monitor performance metrics to meet customer, operational and business goals
  • Foster a culture of transparency, feedback and innovation – always looking for ways we can do things better
  • Support broader business priorities, including safety, financial sustainability and great customer service
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Youi and provide clear, consistent reporting to executives and regulators
  • Build leadership capability across your team through coaching, mentoring and professional development
  • Translate business strategy into clear goals and direction for the wider team

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years' experience in construction, assessing or a related field
  • A strong background in operational leadership – you've led teams and delivered results
  • A practical understanding of assessing processes and quality standards
  • The ability to influence, support and bring people with you – especially through change
  • A genuine love for leading people and helping them grow
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders
  • A solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related field (highly regarded)

Why Youi?

At Youi, we do things a bit differently. We're not your average insurance company – and we don't want to be. We're dynamic, passionate and proud to be human-focused. We've built a culture where people back each other, grow together, and have the freedom to make a real impact.

We're proud of our roots on the Sunshine Coast, and as we continue to grow, we're excited to offer opportunities like this that shape the future of our business.

If you're ready to bring your leadership experience to a role that truly matters – and to a team that's just as passionate about people and progress as you are – Apply Now
