Job Description: Data Centric testing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Strategy:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data migration activities.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and migration teams to understand migration requirements and data mapping.
  • Data Validation & Verification:
  • Perform detailed validation of data migrated from Data Bricks to Data Fabric, ensuring alignment with D365 ERP requirements.
  • Conduct data reconciliation between source and target systems, verifying record counts, data quality, and transformation logic.
  • Defect Management:
  • Identify, document, and track data migration defects; work with relevant teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Test Execution:
  • Execute manual and automated tests for data migration cycles, including dry runs, mock migrations, and final cutover.
  • Validate data integrity, completeness, and consistency post-migration.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed test reports, defect logs, and status updates for stakeholders.
  • Document test results and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with migration, development, and business teams to ensure successful migration and testing outcomes.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and provide guidance on data-related test scenarios.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Atleast 3+ years of experience in data migration testing, preferably in ERP transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP modules and data structures.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Bricks and Data Fabric platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Experience with ETL processes, data mapping, and transformation logic.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based data migration (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements.
  • ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
  • Prior experience in large-scale ERP transformation projects.
