Factor is a strategic platform for enterprise executives. We work with with executives across Australia to help them lead with clarity, connect with peers, and make better decisions — faster.

We're now looking for a Director of Research & Advisory to join our vendor-facing insight practice. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of CIO behaviour, enterprise buying dynamics, and software go-to-market execution.

If you've helped software vendors shape messaging, validate positioning, and get in front of real enterprise decision-makers — and you know the Australian CIO market cold — this one's for you.

What You'll Own:

  • Strategic Advisory to Vendors: Advise software vendors on how to position their value propositions for CIOs and IT buyers across Australia and the broader region.
  • Messaging & Market Fit: Build sharp go-to-market messaging grounded in buyer realities — not fluff. Use CIO insight to help vendors break into enterprise accounts.
  • Persona & Journey Insight: Translate first-party CIO data into commercial guidance — what they're buying, why they're hesitant, and how vendors can engage.
  • Roundtable & Content Strategy: Co-design high-value roundtables, executive sessions, and insight pieces that drive engagement and pipeline for our vendor clients.
  • Market Intelligence: Lead research sprints into buyer trends, decision criteria, budget timelines, platform shifts, and leadership dynamics across enterprise tech.

You'll Thrive If You Have:

  • 10+ years in research, advisory, or GTM roles for/with enterprise software vendors
  • Deep familiarity with the ANZ CIO market — how they think, buy, and shift priorities
  • A track record advising vendors on market entry, positioning, and enterprise sales strategy
  • Experience in analyst firms, B2B research platforms, or strategic GTM agencies
  • Exceptional writing, insight distillation, and executive presentation skills
  • Commercial edge — you're not afraid to tie research to pipeline outcomes

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working with or advising vendors like ServiceNow, Snowflake, VMware, Okta, Palo Alto, or Salesforce
  • A personal network of CIOs or IT leaders you've interviewed, worked with, or advised
  • Experience building playbooks, sales enablement assets, or survey-led campaigns grounded in enterprise data
