Membership, Events & Marketing Administrator

Set on the beautiful shores of Moreton Bay, Wynnum Manly Yacht Club (WMYC) is one of Queensland's most active and welcoming sailing clubs — home to a proud history, a thriving membership, and an exciting calendar of sailing and social events.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Membership, Events & Marketing Administrator to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences for our members, guests, and partners.

This role suits a motivated all-rounder who enjoys variety — from coordinating sailing and social events to managing memberships, creating engaging marketing content, and supporting the Club's daily operations.


Key Responsibilities

Membership & Engagement

  • Be the friendly first point of contact for member enquiries and support.
  • Manage membership applications, renewals, and database records.
  • Coordinate member communications, newsletters, and updates.
  • Develop initiatives to attract, retain, and engage members across all club activities.
  • Support member feedback programs and satisfaction tracking.

Events & Functions

  • Assist in planning, promoting, and delivering sailing, social, and community events.
  • Coordinate event logistics — bookings, catering, entertainment, and suppliers.
  • Manage RSVPs, ticketing, and event communications.
  • Provide on-site support during key club events, regattas, and functions.
  • Prepare post-event reports, attendance summaries, and media content.

Marketing & Communications

  • Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and the WMYC website that reflects the club's vibrant spirit.
  • Promote events, racing results, and member stories to enhance community engagement.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and partners on marketing activations.
  • Maintain consistent branding across all marketing channels and collateral.

Administration & Support

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Flag Officers, Club committees and Club Manager
  • Maintain accurate records, marketing calendars, and communications schedules.
  • Assist with merchandise coordination and promotional stock management.
  • Support sponsorship communications and database updates.

About You

You're a proactive, creative, and people-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic team environment. You'll bring:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in marketing, events, or membership administration (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in marketing, events, or membership administration.
  • Strong digital and social media skills, with an eye for engaging content.
  • A friendly, professional manner and attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach, with availability for occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Availability for evening or weekend events on a monthly or less frequent basis.
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
