About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Automation Test Engineer to join our banking client's technology team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust mobile, web, and API automation frameworks, ensuring high-quality software delivery across complex banking applications. This role will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams to drive automation best practices, continuous testing, and CI/CD integration.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for mobile, web, and API testing using tools such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, and Karate Framework.

2.Implement TDD/BDD practices with Cucumber to enable in-sprint automation and early defect detection.

3.Perform end-to-end automation testing across mobile banking applications, web portals, and backend APIs.

4.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.

5.Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimise test execution in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).

6.Use cloud-based testing platforms such as SauceLabs, BrowserStack, Perfecto Mobile, and SeeTest Cloud for cross-device validation.

7.Manage test artefacts, track defects, and report execution results using Jira, HP Quality Center, Microsoft Test Manager, Allure, Extent Reports, and Power BI.

8.Work closely with stakeholders to define test strategy, scope, and acceptance criteria for mobile banking solutions.

9.Lead automation best practice initiatives and mentor junior engineers within the QA team.

10.Ensure compliance with banking industry standards, security guidelines, and performance benchmarks.

Required Skills & Experience:

*10+ years of overall software testing experience, with at least 6+ years in mobile automation.

*Proven expertise in automation tools: Selenium, Appium, Playwright, SeeTest, Karate Framework, Rest Assured, Postman.

*Strong programming skills in Java, C#, JavaScript, Python.

*Solid experience in implementing BDD/TDD frameworks using Cucumber and TestNG/JUnit.

*Hands-on experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.

*Familiarity with cloud-based testing solutions (SauceLabs, BrowserStack, Perfecto Mobile, SeeTest Cloud).

*Knowledge of banking or financial services domain and regulatory compliance.

*Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Continuous Delivery methodologies.

*Experience working with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

*Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

*Exposure to AI-assisted test automation (e.g., GitHub Copilot for test script generation).

*Experience in performance and security testing for mobile and web applications.
