Overview

We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Playwright and TypeScript to join our Quality Assurance team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable automated test suites to ensure the reliability and quality of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software testing, a solid grasp of automation principles, and hands-on experience with Playwright.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop modular and extensible test automation frameworks using Playwright to cover web and mobile platforms.
  • Architect frameworks to support diverse testing types—UI, API, end-to-end (E2E), integration, and component-level—ensuring scalability and flexibility.
  • Leverage Playwright's fixtures and plugins to manage test data and enhance maintainability and reusability across environments.
  • Create custom commands and utilities to encapsulate common testing patterns, improving readability and reducing redundancy.
  • Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to define and prioritize test scenarios aligned with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and feature discussions to identify critical paths, edge cases, and user flows for test coverage.
  • Use Playwright's interceptors and mocks to simulate external dependencies and services for isolated component testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, utilizing parallelization and distributed testing to accelerate feedback and reduce time to market.
  • Analyze test results to identify trends, optimize test coverage, and enhance automation strategies based on metrics like defect density and execution patterns.
  • Utilize code coverage tools (e.g., Codecov, SonarQube) to evaluate test effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote quality-driven development practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), embedding automation into the development lifecycle.
Required Experience
  • Proven experience with modern test automation frameworks, particularly Playwright.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and a solid understanding of software testing principles.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native testing strategies, including testing for APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures.
