We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented RTO Manager to lead our compliance, operational, and data reporting functions. This role is critical in ensuring we continue to meet regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong learner-focused culture.

About the Role

As the RTO Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective management of the RTO, with a strong focus on AVETMISS compliance, data integrity, and regulatory reporting. You will work closely with senior leadership, trainers, and administration staff to ensure Assist Ability Academy operates in line with the Standards for RTOs and relevant Victorian and Commonwealth requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Assist Ability Academy as an RTO
  • Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely AVETMISS data reporting
  • Oversee and maintain AVETMISS-compliant Student Management Systems (SMS)
  • Prepare for, manage, and respond to ASQA audits and compliance activities
  • Maintain and continuously improve RTO policies, procedures, and systems
  • Monitor compliance with funding, reporting, and contractual obligations (where applicable)
  • Support trainers, assessors, and administrative staff with compliance and data requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement, risk management, and quality assurance activities
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulators, funding bodies, and external stakeholders

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an RTO Manager or senior RTO compliance role
  • Strong practical knowledge of AVETMISS, including validation, troubleshooting, and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with AVETMISS-compliant SMS platforms (e.g. aXcelerate, VETtrak, RTO Manager, or similar)
  • Sound understanding of ASQA, VET compliance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in applying for funded training contracts (state or Commonwealth)
  • High attention to detail with strong data analysis and reporting capability
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working within community-based or not-for-profit RTOs
  • Experience managing funded training contracts (state or Commonwealth)
  • Audit management experience with successful outcomes
  • Training and Assessment qualification (TAE40122 or higher)
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams
