About the role

The Team Leader Workers Compensation plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a team responsible for managing the workers compensation insurance portfolio and associated risk exposure. This position is essential for delivering operational support and strategically monitoring trends to meet financial targets, ultimately contributing to quality outcomes for our community.

In this role, you will engage with staff, claimants, and insurance underwriters, ensuring that our services are delivered with the highest standard of customer service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience in a self-insured workers compensation environment.
  • Solid understanding of risk management, rehabilitation, and WH&S practises.
  • Knowledge of NSW Workers Compensation Acts and regulatory guidelines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and conflict resolution.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $106k. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $123k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
  • We have a permanent full-time role available
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
