AECOM is proud to be delivering geotechnical and dam investigations for the Somerset Dam Improvement Project (SDIP), a vital initiative to enhance the safety and resilience of one of Queensland's key water assets.
Our specialist team is providing critical insights to assess dam safety risks, shape the design of future upgrades, and support cost estimates, constructability, and delivery planning. With a comprehensive program of field mapping, trenching, borehole drilling, laboratory and concrete testing, and dam instrumentation, AECOM is harnessing its technical expertise to collect and interpret essential data, ensuring the successful delivery of the SDIP.
Job DescriptionHow you'll make a difference
- Provide Safety support, guidance and advice to project team to embed a strong safety culture.
- Support leadership in driving behavioural safety and continuous improvement in SH&E performance.
- Champion compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and Principal Contractor obligations on site.
- Facilitate and monitor safe systems of work, particularly for high-risk construction and geotechnical activities.
- The position can be offered on a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis.
The qualities that help you thrive

- Minimum Certificate IV level (Diploma Preferred) in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated SHE experience in civil construction and other high-risk industries.
- High risk work licences and Cert IV in Training & assessment qualifications are advantageous; proficient in Excel & Word
- Previous experience in drilling, geotechnical investigations, and scaffolding would be advantageous.
