About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. About the Role

RMIT's Education Cloud Program is a landmark digital transformation, modernising the student experience through Salesforce and creating a unified, outcome-driven ecosystem across the University. Join RMIT's dynamic Student Experience team as a Senior Functional Analyst and play a pivotal role in shaping the University's digital transformation journey towards Education Cloud. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on how students and staff engage through a unified Salesforce ecosystem, helping to deliver a seamless 360° view of the student experience.

You'll be part of an established agile delivery squad focused on Salesforce, where your insights will help shape the team's ways of working and enhance RMIT's existing Salesforce capability. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll partner with talented Design and Technical Leads, Developers, QA Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions that support the University's strategic goals.

If you're passionate about functional analysis, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery, this role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and strategic influence. You'll define detailed requirements and acceptance criteria, guide development and testing efforts, and ensure that every solution adds value to the student experience. As a senior member of the team, you'll also have the chance to lead initiatives, mentor others, and drive continuous improvement within the squad.

About You

To be successful in this position, you'll have, as a minimum:

  • Deliver high-quality functional services across the Salesforce platform within the Student Experience portfolio, supporting RMIT's transformation to Education Cloud. Ensure all solutions meet RMIT governance and compliance requirements (including but limited to facilitating relevant approval processes), Both Enterprise and Solution Architecture standards, and business user requirements, with system and procedural documentation maintained in the agreed repositories (i.e. Confluence and JIRA).
  • Work closely with Salesforce Developers and Technical Leads to guide solution design and feature development, ensuring functional integrity and user value.
  • Define UAT test conditions (incl. Story boarding and process mapping, cases, tools, and methods based on business requirements. Analyse and report test activities and results to the initiative lead, resolving issues and risks. Manage and guide testing activities to ensure usability and quality standards are met.
  • Translate business requirements into functional designs within the SDLC, delivering solutions that meet agreed service levels, standards, and processes. Maintain current knowledge of system configuration and capabilities, applying this to deliver innovative and effective solution designs.
  • Experience in soliciting and documentation of detailed business requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Agile delivery and Salesforce experience.
  • Able to lead a significantly complex piece of analysis work.
