Position: Full Time Permanent 38 hrs per week
Salary: $80,000 plus 11.5% Super
Location: Cairns, Qld 4870
Purpose of the Position:
Operate trucks to move bulk materials, containers, crates, palletised goods, cartons,
bales and other goods as required.
Job Duties:
-
Operate trucks to transport materials, goods, and products to designated locations in a safe and timely manner.
-
Follow the daily job schedule and assigned job numbers to complete deliveries efficiently.
-
Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring materials are handled and transported safely while maximizing storage space and minimizing damage.
-
Secure all cargo properly to prevent damage or injury during transit.
-
Conduct pre-start inspections on trucks and regularly inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, reporting any concerns to supervisors and performing preventive maintenance as required.
-
Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, transport legislation, and workplace OH&S guidelines to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
-
Follow fatigue management procedures and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
-
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, inspections, and incidents, including completing digital dockets and sending weighbridge dockets to the office for authorization.
-
Drive safely, following all road laws, traffic rules, and company policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
-
Keep the company truck clean, well-maintained, fueled, and road compliant.
-
Communicate effectively with supervisors, office staff, and team members to provide updates on deliveries, report issues, and ensure smooth operations.
-
Pick up and transport goods to various projects or intended destinations while providing excellent customer service and treating customers and site staff with professionalism and respect.

Adhere to workplace policies related to the handling and storage of materials, ensuring compliance with specific guidelines for different types of goods.

Stay up to date with training, licensing, and certification requirements to maintain a valid truck license and meet industry standards.
Requirements:

1 year full time relevant Work experience
-
AQF Certificate II or III (ANZSCO Skill Level 4) or at least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Must be physically fit and able to pass a drug and alcohol test

Must hold a minimum MR Licence

Eligibility
