The Role
A career opportunity has arisen for a Junior Lawyer to join our Insurance team in Brisbane. In this role you will be working with a team of ten other professionals including partner David Slatyer, and three legal assistants, across a range of insurance advisory and litigation matters, including public liability, professional indemnity, property liability, policy indemnity, life/TPD insurance, motor and subrogated recoveries.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Drafting advices;
  • Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally;
  • Preparing Court documents;
  • Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners;
  • Attending and conducting settlement conferences and mediations;
  • Routine appearances before the Court; and
  • File management.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have between 1-3 years' experience with insurance work from a defendant law firm. You will work well in a team, have a professional and practical approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong client service focus. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, have good attention to detail, meet deadlines and collaborate.
