About the role

This is a full-time Diesel Fitter position FIFO to Mount Isa, Queensland. The successful candidate will work an even time roster at one of our mine sites in Western Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity to join an industry leading mining company.

Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position.

What you'll be doing

  1. Carry out scheduled maintenance and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, differentials and other heavy mobile equipment
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on a range of plant and machinery
  3. Diagnose and repair hydraulic system faults
  4. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety and quality standards
  5. Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to ensure efficient operations
  6. Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken

What we're looking foR

  1. A recognised trade qualification such as Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle, Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology, Certificate IV Automotive Technology, or equivalent mechanical trade qualification is required.
  2. Extensive experience as a Diesel Fitter, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment
  3. A minimum of 2-7+ years of diesel fitting experience is required, with preference given to candidates with extensive experience.
  4. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills
  6. Willingness to work FIFO rosters
