About the role
As the Executive Management Officer to the Director Planning and Place, you will support them by managing the operations of their office and coordinating administrative processes, projects, and communications across the Directorate. The role works closely with senior leaders within the Directorate to prepare and review reports, ensure timely responses, and deliver strategic outcomes.
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing high quality proof-reading, editing and fact checking of key documents in accordance with Council's guidelines.
- Maintaining the Director's timetables, diary and schedules for future activities and follow-up to ensure actions are taken to meet deadlines.
- Assisting the Managers to meet organisational and divisional planning and reporting requirements to both internal stakeholders and external bodies.
- Coordinating and participate in the preparation of reports, agendas and minutes for meetings.
- Monitoring the progress status and completion of actions set out in the Council Plan and Planning and Place plans, working with Managers to ensure actions are completed within timeframes.
About you
You are a highly organised and proactive professional with strong judgement, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
You thrive in dynamic environments, can manage competing priorities, and enjoy working collaboratively with senior leaders. Your ability to maintain confidentiality and provide trusted, high-level support makes you a valued advisor and team player.
The following is also required:
- Degree or diploma in related administration or project management field with relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications and substantial experience in a comparable role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work within strict time limits, accurately and professionally in an efficient manner, despite conflicting timeframes whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, enabling high quality correspondence, presentations and written material to be produced.
- Highly developed knowledge and an ability to display confidentiality and political astuteness.
