About the Role
The Surveyor provides field-based survey services across MGC Civil projects. This role ensures all setouts, pickups, and as-built surveys are accurate, compliant, and aligned to project specifications. The Surveyor works closely with site teams to enable efficient, safe, and sequenced project delivery. Surveyors are critical to ensuring construction activities meet design intent and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate survey services that support program delivery and project outcomes.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance with design, and timely issue of survey outputs.
- Interface with site supervision, engineering, and subcontractors to align survey with daily and weekly delivery needs.
- Capture and validate as-built data for QA and client handover.
- Support tender and pre-mobilisation processes by reviewing site data, boundary conditions, and proposed methodologies.
- Contribute to reviewing construction plans by identifying challenges with site access, equipment setup, and work scheduling
- Perform field pickups, set-outs, and as-built surveys.
- Ensure survey outputs align with design models, IFC drawings, and client specifications.
- Communicate survey results clearly to supervisors and site crews.
- Maintain calibration of equipment and compliance with MGC quality standards.
- Record and track survey data for QA, reporting, and claims support.
- Work with engineers to verify design adjustments or field changes
About You
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in civil surveying (construction or infrastructure).
- Proficient in survey instruments, GPS, Total Stations, and survey software (e.g., Topcon, Leica, or Magnet).
- Strong understanding of civil design drawings, models, and IFC documentation.
- Competent in managing large datasets and producing defensible as-built records.
- White Card and relevant survey or spatial qualifications (Diploma or Cert IV in Surveying preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and collaborative attitude
- Valid driver's licence.
