Green Light is a growing consulting organisation known for its work in Telecommunications and System Integration Services organisations. We have a requirement with our client partner for a
DB2 Database Administrator
to join their team on a
12-Month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuous availability and optimal performance of DB2 databases supporting critical batch operations.
- Conduct regular administrative tasks including backups, restores, user access management, patching, and version upgrades.
- Proactively monitor system health and resource usage to identify and address performance issues.
- Collaborate with development and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents affecting batch workflows.
- Contribute to the design and deployment of database structures such as tables, indexes, and stored procedures for new or updated applications.
- Implement robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Requirements:
- Must
hold full Australian citizenship
due to the nature of government-related work involved in this role. - Demonstrated experience managing DB2 databases in a high-availability, enterprise-scale environment.
- Solid understanding of batch processing systems and their integration with database platforms.
- Strong skills in performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimisation.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies, user access controls, and patch management.
- Knowledge of data security standards and compliance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience on Datacom mainframe, IDMS and/or ADABAS is highly regarded but note essential
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
