This Project-based role is responsible for preparing and coordinating Permit-to-Work related tasks and to provide advice to Project personnel on permit-related compliance and support to Project management with the implementation of:

  • Permit drafting
  • Job Hazard Analysis preparation
  • Procedural compliance
  • Isolation requirements
  • Client requirements.

The Permit Coordinator is required to liaise with supervision, engineering, Health, Safety and Environment representatives, contractors and clients for preparation of Work Permits.

The candidate will be able to work in metropolitan construction site locations around Melbourne on a Monday to Friday roster, and ideally have:

  • Trade qualification and/or experience in construction related discipline as required.
  • Previous history of operating within Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Trained in "Work in accordance with an Issued Permit".
  • Trained in "Conduct Local risk control".
  • Field experience with a sound content knowledge of Works to be undertaken.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction and engineering industry.
  • Construction induction white card.
    Demonstrated experience in effective leadership and employee direction.

Responsibilities Include

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager & Superintendent, responsibilities include permit preparation, consultation, communication and general duties associated with permits to support the Project team such as:

  • Review of job scopes and proposed schedules.
  • Review and population of progress trackers.
  • Discuss with supervision and engineering their extra needs or changes to schedule.
  • Assessment of procedures.
  • Preparation of supporting documentation for permits.
  • Provide advice and support to supervision and all employees in the performance and compliance of permits.
  • Maintain relationships with client personnel and/or other stakeholders through regular updates and contact sessions.
  • Assist supervision with Permit related issues.
    All administrative tasks related to permits.
