- Play a leadership role in delivering ACF's campaign to shift Australia's food and agricultural system away from nature-destructive practices and towards new, nature-positive ones.
- Full time position with a salary of $103, 530 plus 12.5% superannuation and some of the best working conditions
- Located in Melbourne (Wurundjeri Country) or Sydney (Gadigal Country) – your choice
Who is the ACF?
When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.
We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia's unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We're inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.
Whether it's advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, koalas snoozing in big old trees or for strong climate action, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.
What's the gig?
Food is integral to life. It's not just something we need, it's something we love. It's part of who we are—our favourite meals, our family identity, our culture. Yet, agriculture for food is one of the main drivers of nature destruction in Australia. That's why ACF is working to transform Australia's food system—from one that works against nature, to one that works with nature.
This role helps deliver ACF's Food that's Good for People and Nature campaign, which aims to tackle the biggest drivers of nature destruction in Australia's food system and promote sustainable and innovative alternatives. We've started with the biggest driver of biodiversity decline linked to agriculture—deforestation.
The position is responsible for the supporting the development, delivery, and execution of campaign strategies and tactics in pursuit of ACF's campaign goals. The role engages directly with companies along the agricultural supply chain to address nature-related impacts. It plays a critical role in communicating with our community and the broader public by developing engaging and persuasive campaigns communication, and it supports the campaign through delivery of robust, original research and analysis.
This role sits within our Corporate Campaign team – a team charged with designing and creating strategies to disrupt, create solutions, and activate corporations and community towards a nature- and climate-positive future. You will work across the organisation with other members of the Campaigns directorate and with colleagues across other parts of the organisation in pursuit of our goals.
About you
You are excited by and have experience in the design, development and implementation of campaigns that have changed government or business policy. You know that big changes can only be won and held by building power in the community.
You make good decisions and commit to action even with incomplete information. You have an ability to wrap your head around complex policy areas and communicate complicated ideas in clear and compelling ways.
You are equally comfortable talking to our supporters about how they can get involved in our campaign, addressing a rally, doing a radio interview and discussing climate and biodiversity issues with representative from business; and you know how to adapt your communication style for each audience.
You understand the importance of building relationships and partnerships with likely and unlikely allies and fostering those relationships to help achieve campaign outcomes.
You enjoy working in a team on a common goal, like learning new skills and enjoy celebrating shared success. You love bringing people together behind an idea and using your expertise and theirs to make it work.
You know that the voices of all types of people are required to win our campaigns and you're committed to building an inclusive and equitable movement where everyone is treated with dignity and respect
Why work with us?
You'll do important work with one of Australia's most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you'll have fun along the way.
ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:
