The Spire Community is a joint venture of Clayton Wesley Uniting Church, Uniting Communities, the Wimala Presbytery and The Uniting Church SA Synod. Together we are a community of helpers, collaborators, social support seekers, arts enthusiasts, music buffs, creative types, bargain hunters, volunteers, and spiritual revellers. Our projects and activities aim to promote inclusivity and welcome.

Our café is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and offers affordable delicious meals and barista made coffee – ensuring that everyone at any income level can enjoy dining on the Parade. Our Op-shop provides low-cost high quality pre-loved items for sale which in turn funds the work of the Spire Community. We provide many free activities including arts and crafts, music, gardening and community education seminars.

The Position of Services Co-ordinator is an overall administrative position concerned with the maintenance of the complex of buildings used by the Spire Community (including the Church, the Goodies Op Shop, Hope's Café and 2 other buildings), and facilitating and supporting the varied activities of our volunteers.

Briefly the role includes:

  • Ensuring that the buildings are at all times functional and safe.
  • Liaising with tradespersons
  • Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are in place
  • Maintaining records, registers and formal documentation
  • Overseeing and co-ordinating minor works
  • Managing the hiring of facilities to third parties
