Punjabi Masala is a very successful business, having been in the hospitality sector for a long time. We exist to serve the community with a fine North Indian Delicacies. We are a non-gaming venue.

Due to the urgent need of the business, we have vacant positions for chefs who can work at immediate notice and can contribute to successful business operations.

As a chef, you will lead a team in our commercial kitchen and look after the juniors in command. The core of our business is today fixed around catering Indian (specifically North Indian) delicacies to our patrons.

Qualifications & experience

  • Trade qualification in commercial cookery.

  • At least 2 years of work experience as a chef.

  • Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Duties needed:

  • Develop and execute menu for Indian curries specifically Punjabi/North Indian/Tandoori dishes(veg/vegan).

  • Manage inventory, order supplies and oversee the quality and freshness of supplies.

  • Cook food in various utensils, ovens or grillers.

  • Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.

  • Manage, instruct and train kitchen staff to help deliver the menu efficiently with

    attention to quality, quantity, freshness, presentation.

  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.

  • Check the quality of food ingredients.

  • Co-ordinate end to end kitchen operations during service and prep time.

  • Rostering and kitchen staff management (highly preferred).

  • Ensure great presentation by garnishing dishes before they are served.

  • Set up and monitor temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.

  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.

  • Maintain kitchen's cleanliness and hygiene as per Australian standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
