About the Role

We have various clients in the resources sector seeking competent Master Data Specialists to enhance their asset register, materials master data, and data governance frameworks. Our clients are tier one resource sector companies that value data excellence and proven expertise in master data management that delivers measurable improvements in operational efficiency, compliance, and decision-making capabilities.

As a Master Data Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining critical asset and materials data in enterprise systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, implementing data governance standards, and supporting business processes that rely on high-quality master data.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and validate master data for assets, equipment, materials, and bill of materials (BOM) in ERP/CMMS systems
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all enterprise systems
• Develop and implement data governance standards, procedures, and best practices
• Conduct regular data quality audits and implement corrective actions for data issues
• Manage asset register updates including equipment hierarchy, technical specifications, and criticality classifications
• Create and maintain material master records with accurate descriptions, classifications, and attributes
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure data requirements are met
• Support system implementations, upgrades, and data migration projects
• Develop and maintain data management documentation, standards, and training materials
• Generate reports and analytics on data quality metrics and master data performance
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in data management processes

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Master Data Specialist, Data Analyst, or Asset Data Administrator in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of master data management principles, data governance, and data quality frameworks
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP ECC/S4HANA, Oracle, or similar platforms) and CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo)
• Experience with asset register management, equipment hierarchies, and technical object structures
• Knowledge of materials master data, classification systems, and procurement master data
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Degree or diploma in Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or related discipline
• Strong communication skills with ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with data migration, system implementations, or ERP upgrades is highly regarded
• Valid Australian work rights or eligibility to obtain them
• Candidates who can demonstrate immediate capability and work-ready expertise
