Description:
About the Role
As our Senior Systems Administrator, you'll take ownership of Protecta's cloud-first IT environment, ensuring our Microsoft 365, Azure, and core business systems run securely and efficiently.
You'll be hands-on in supporting and enhancing key business systems like NetSuite, Magento, and BI tools, managing integrations, troubleshooting issues, and improving performance across the business. Working alongside our IT Systems Administrator, you'll act as the technical lead — driving reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.
This role supports Protecta's broader goal of becoming a more insight-led, data-driven organisation where technology simplifies work, improves decisions, and delivers seamless digital experiences. You'll also help advance our AI adoption, implementing smart, practical tools that make IT more proactive and efficient.
What You'll Be Doing
Ensure Protecta's systems stay secure and reliable through strong access control, endpoint protection, and firewall management.
Maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and continuity plans to safeguard operations.
Oversee Protecta's cloud infrastructure (Microsoft 365, Azure, and connected platforms) for stability and scalability.
Support and enhance NetSuite ERP, eCommerce, and BI systems to keep data connected and processes running smoothly.
Lead system improvement projects, introducing automation, optimisation, and AI-enabled monitoring tools.
Maintain accurate documentation of systems and configurations for consistency and audit readiness.
Act as the technical lead and mentor for the IT Systems Administrator, fostering collaboration and growth.
Skills and Experiences:
What You'll Bring
5+ years experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure management, ideally in a cloud-first environment.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure, with experience setting up users, managing access, and keeping systems secure.
Experience supporting or implementing ERP or enterprise platforms (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar) with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configuration.
A security-focused mindset, with practical knowledge of access control, endpoint protection, and data governance.
Capability to implement new systems, automation, and AI-driven tools that improve efficiency and reliability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to improvement and optimisation.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities, comfortable working across both technical and business teams.
What do we offer?
An opportunity to be part of a supportive and growing Australian family business that values its employees.
An attractive remuneration package, plus inclusion in our uncapped profit share (GBS) program.
Recognition for your contributions through our Bonusly program.
Full-time role – Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours options.
Convenient onsite parking and a modern workspace including sit-stand desks.
Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for confidential support and wellbeing.
