Full-Time Barista & Medical Secretary Trainee

Location: Newstead, Brisbane

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team in a unique dual position as Barista and Medical Secretary Trainee. Based at our modern medical practice in Newstead, this permanent full-time role provides an excellent opportunity to utilise your hospitality expertise while undertaking structured training in medical administration.

Position Overview

This role is designed for an experienced barista who is looking to expand their career into healthcare administration. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality café service while progressively developing the skills required to provide efficient front desk and administrative support within a medical practice.

Key Responsibilities

Barista Duties

  • Prepare and serve coffee and beverages to a consistently high standard.
  • Maintain a clean and organised café environment.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.

Medical Secretary Training

  • Greet patients and manage reception operations.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing phone and email enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Receive training in medical practice software and booking systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated barista experience (essential).
  • Familiarity with La Marzocco Linea PB Coffee Machines or Mythos 1 Grinders is desirable, though not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Highly organised, professional, and proactive approach to work.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in healthcare administration.
  • Previous reception or administrative experience will be highly regarded; however, training will be provided.
