Wayside Chapel is looking for a creative and strategic Content Lead to bring our mission to life online. You'll craft stories that amplify our voice, inspire community support, and drive impact through fundraising and advocacy. This is more than a content role. It's a chance to use your skills to create change and share the real, human stories of one of Sydney's most iconic community organisations.
About Wayside Chapel
Wayside Chapel has provided unconditional love, care and support to the most marginalised people on and around the streets of Sydney since 1964. Our mission is to create a community with no 'us and them', and address underlying issues of inequality, wellbeing, and loneliness. From our centres in Kings Cross and Bondi and through outreach teams, we offer a range of support services that place dignity, respect, and love at the heart of what we do.

About the role
As Content Lead, you'll manage our content calendar, produce high-quality videos, photos, graphics and copy, and grow engagement across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Working with colleagues across Wayside, you'll capture authentic stories and translate them into content that moves people to connect, give and act.
This is a fixed-term position, that will end on 31 March 2026.
Key duties
- Develop and deliver a content calendar aligned to campaigns and brand narrative
- Produce short-form video, photography, graphics and copy tailored to each platform
- Manage posting, scheduling and community engagement
- Track analytics and provide insights to improve reach and impact
- Support fundraising and advocacy campaigns with compelling digital assets
About you
You're a digital storyteller with the creativity to capture attention and the care to handle sensitive stories with respect. You thrive on variety, from strategy to hands-on production, and you know how to make content that resonates.
You'll bring:
- 1+ years' experience in content production with a social media focus
- Strong skills in video editing, design and copywriting
- Proven ability to create content that engages diverse audiences
- Experience managing social platforms and online communities
- A commitment to Wayside's mission, vision and values
Ideally, you'll also:
- Have worked in the non-profit or social impact space
- Understand accessibility and inclusive communication standards
- Feel comfortable appearing on camera
Why Wayside?
- Five weeks' Annual Leave
- $15,900 of your salary tax-free through salary packaging
- Paid Cultural and Ceremonial Leave
- Access to monthly External Clinical Supervision
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Wayside is an Equal Opportunity Employer that provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
