Graduate Project Engineer/Project Administrator

About Us
We are a small but growing building company specializing in the design and construction of high-quality modular transportable homes across the Midwest region. With several new housing projects underway, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Engineer, Graduate Construction Manager (or similar technical background) to join our team.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in construction project delivery, document management, and scheduling, while working within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control:
Manage and maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure accurate version control and distribution to internal teams and subcontractors.
- Create handover manuals
Compliance & Quality Checks:
Assist in reviewing plans, specifications, and building documentation to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain compliance registers and prepare supporting documentation for inspections and audits.
- Complete quality inspections and coordinate call back for defective work
Scheduling & Planning:
Develop and maintain project schedules using Gantt charts and project management software.
- Monitor progress against key milestones and update timelines accordingly.
- Coordinate & Schedule building transportation and ensure all onsite works have been completed in readiness for building delivery
- Investigate site access and determine logistical and risk requirements
Project Support:
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Assist Project Manager with progress reports, procurement tracking, and site coordination tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic project scheduling tools (MS Project, Excel Gantt, or similar).
- Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with modular or prefabricated construction methods.
- Experience with compliance systems and document control platforms.
- Understanding of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
