Our Client is a reputable Remedial Builder, looking for an experienced Leading Hand with specialist waterproofing knowledge.

About the role

To organise and supervise the successful completion of contract works with regard to safety, programme, quality and budget.

Customer / Client Focussed

  • Maintain the image of the company as a builder committed to the values of professionalism and integrity.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with code of conduct.
  • Interact politely and considerately with client representatives, occupiers and the general public in the vicinity of job sites.
  • Be well informed and able to intelligently discuss relevant site issues with management and client representatives.
  • Arrange and attend all site meetings and inspections.
  • Ensure all personnel on site maintain appropriate standards of dress and behaviour.

Planning and Organisation:

  • On a daily basis, quickly and efficiently direct labourers, tradesmen and sub-contractors in their allotted tasks.
  • Ensure the necessary tools, materials, materials handling and access equipment is in place to maintain efficiency and productivity.
  • Fully understand the project programme and communicate key issues with members of the project team.
  • Observe the prescribed ordering and payment authorisation procedures promptly and efficiently when required to do so.
  • Assist the project manager in monthly forecasting.

Teamwork:

  • Work in a co-operative manner with the project manager, consultant, client and sub-contract trades on site.
  • Fully support the project manager in seeking alternative methods and materials that will save time and expense.
  • Lead the project team on site by working hard and skilfully to undertake assigned tasks with due diligence and in full accordance with the specification.
  • Maintain an awareness of safety of oneself, the team and the site generally.

Requirements:

  • Proven waterproofing experience is required.
  • Spray-on waterproofing application experience is highly regarded.
  • Qualification in building preferred.
  • Experience in Construction, preferably remedial.
  • Experience as a Leading Hand.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in WHS and compliance.
  • An Australian Drivers licence.
