About the role
Southern Steel Supplies is seeking an experienced Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Driver to join our team. This is a full-time role where you'll play a vital part in the transportation and delivery of steel to our valued customers.
What you'll be doing
- Safely operating and maintaining trucks and trailers to transport steel products
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Adhering to all road rules, regulations and company safety policies
- Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and management to provide updates on deliveries
- Completing all required paperwork and delivery documentation accurately
- Delivering excellent customer service and representing Southern Steel Supplies in a professional manner
What we're looking for
- A current Heavy Combination (HC) truck licence
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating HC trucks
- Strong knowledge of road rules and safe driving practices
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong commitment to safety
