About the role

The Analytics & Insights Engineer, Investment Data and Analytics plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering data capabilities across the investment function at Cbus. Operating as a senior member of the team you, will be responsible for developing analytical data models, building and maintaining data pipelines and implementing automated workflows within our in-house data management platform. You will work collaboratively in a supportive team to enhance platform capabilities, drive automation and embed data governance best practices. Leveraging cutting edge technology, you will help deliver robust, well governed data that empowers Cbus to be more agile, insights-led and forward thinking in its investment operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyse and report on large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources to support business decision-making
  • Design, develop and maintain conceptual, logical and analytical data models, dashboards and reports using tools such as SQL and PowerBI
  • Create and manage high-quality, governed datasets that are accurate, timely and fit for analytics and reporting purposes
  • Develop and automate data pipelines and workflows using ETL/ELT principles, scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell) and CI/CD practices with Azure DevOps
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify relevant data sources, translate business requirements into insights and apply advanced techniques to deliver commercially focused recommendations

What will you bring?

  • Experience in a similar Data Engineering or Data Science role with relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling and building reusable data assets using tools like PySpark and SparkSQL
  • Proven experience in DataOps, Agile environments and modern DevOps toolsets including CI/CD, Jira and Confluence
  • Skills in deploying and managing data pipelines, integrating third party systems/ APIs and automating unit tests
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles including lineage, integrity, classification and lifecycle management.
