About the company
Asseti is the category-defining platform for asset intelligence and operations, used by some of the world's largest real estate owners to understand their assets, optimise portfolio performance, and make smarter operational, maintenance, and capital decisions.
We turn complex, fragmented asset information into a single source of truth - combining real-time condition insights with the operational context needed to prioritise work, manage risk, and drive efficient action across large property networks.
Asseti automates condition detection, triage, repair prioritisation, and cost forecasting at scale. We streamline asset operations by enabling teams to identify issues, understand impact, coordinate responses, and measure improvement - all within one unified platform.
We're building the intelligence and operational backbone that helps leading organisations run their assets with clarity, consistency, and confidence.
The opportunity
Join our Sydney team as our founding Data & Analytics Lead in BizOps and become the architect of Asseti's operational intelligence. You'll weave together data from across the entire business, transform it into actionable insights, and pioneer the intelligence and automation systems that power our next phase of growth. This is far from a reporting role - it's a high-impact builder position where you'll fundamentally shape how we understand our business, make decisions, and operate at scale.
The role
You'll own our internal data platform and operational analytics - becoming the central architect of how Asseti collects, models, and activates data across the business.
You will design and maintain robust data pipelines that bring together information from AWS, GCP, and third-party sources like Fivetran into BigQuery. You'll model this data into clean, well-documented schemas that serve as the foundation for analytics, automation, and decision-making across all teams.
You'll distribute insights through Power BI dashboards and other channels, ensuring stakeholders across the company have accurate, self-serve access to the metrics and context they need. Beyond reporting, you'll automate workflows across systems and teams - integrating APIs, building event-driven processes, and removing manual bottlenecks that slow us down.
You'll improve reliability and visibility by implementing monitoring, logging, and data quality checks that build trust in our data and systems. And you'll experiment with AI and automation agents to unlock smarter operations - prototyping tools that can query data, summarise insights, trigger actions, and help teams work faster and more intelligently.
This role is about building the intelligence layer that powers Asseti's growth - connecting the dots across the business and turning data into competitive advantage.
What you will do
- Build and maintain data pipelines from AWS, GCP, and third‑party sources (e.g., Fivetran) into BigQuery
- Model and organise data into clear, well‑documented tables and views for analytics and automation
- Distribute insights via Power BI and other channels to enable accurate self‑serve access across teams
- Automate operations by integrating systems, APIs, and event‑driven workflows to remove manual work
- Implement monitoring, logging, and data quality checks to build trust and performance
- Prototype internal AI or automation agents that query data, summarise insights, or trigger actions
- Evolve our architecture and governance as we scale, including evaluation of tools like dbt and observability
What you will bring
- 3–6 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BizOps
- Strong SQL and data modelling experience (BigQuery or similar)
- Experience integrating data from cloud sources
- Proficiency with Power BI or other BI tools
- Familiarity with Fivetran, Python, APIs, or workflow automation tools
Bonus points for:
Experience with AI/LLM automation, data observability, or dbt
Why join us
This is a rare opportunity to build the intelligence engine of a fast-growing company from the ground up. You'll be the architect connecting every data point across Asseti, automating critical workflows that unlock velocity, and directly shaping how we scale our operations globally. Expect exceptional compensation, genuine ownership over systems that matter, and the autonomy to pioneer how a category-defining company runs on data. This isn't just analytics - it's building the nervous system of the business.
