Mechanical Engineer

ITT Blakers Pty Ltd are the OEM of industrial pumps, valves, monitoring and control equipment, offshore water treatment systems, plant optimisation and efficiency systems, as well as providing aftermarket services and parts. Building on over 160 years of Goulds Pumps experience, ITT provides replacement parts, repair and upgrade services, reliability and maintenance programs, and asset management assistance to customers with the goals of extending equipment life, reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and increasing plant output. Industries supported by ITT in Australia include oil and gas, power, pulp & paper, mining and mineral processing, chemical, petrochemical, water and waste water sectors.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to be located in our Perth office (Wangara) and work closely with customers. The position is fulltime, working Monday to Friday with some travel. The key responsibilities for this position are:

• Develop and grow long term relationships through routine, proactive and professional interactions with existing customers;
• Achieve designated sales budget across all sales channels
• Provide greater details in relation to the responsibilities such as including the following:
• o Interpreting specifications or technical issues (product or customer)o Relaying solutions to the sales team and converting requirements into final designs and scope of works;\o Manage upgrades, re-engineering, new lay outs, design and modifications to pumps, guarding, baseplates, and all auxiliary equipment to meet industry, product and customer specifications;o Promote and increase market share of IP aftermarket solutions (pump, service, parts (including ProCast), retrofits, upgrades and M&C) through targeting and developing key customer opportunities;o Work closely with external sales team to achieve this primary objective;o Regular customer interface/involvement utilizing existing customer assessment/selling tools, pps scorecards, contract management and execution processes/structure;o Leading solution initiatives throughout the regional organization working with sales, operations and management groups to maximize customer value and growth potentialo The successful candidate will have tertiary engineering qualifications. You must be able to work efficiently and accurately within a team environment, be customer focused, self-disciplined and highly motivated. Pump industry experience is essential, as well as:
• A sound technical sales background in rotating equipment with emphasis on pumps and services
• Prior experience within the mining industry and demonstrated knowledge of market activities, including on site, is essential
• A trade background or tertiary education in a related field
• Exceptional communication skills, oral, written and computer
• Drivers licence
• Willingness and ability to travel within WA, interstate and overseas if required.
