Duties

Reporting directly to the Director, the roles of a Mechanical Engineer include but are not limited to;

  • Review and develop functional statements, organisational charts, and project documentation to define roles, responsibilities, and identify workflow overlaps.
  • Implement work measurement programs and analyse work samples to establish labour utilisation benchmarks.
  • Evaluate workforce deployment, facility layouts, operational data, production schedules, and cost structures to optimise employee and equipment efficiency.
  • Design mechanical systems, machinery, components, and products for manufacturing, as well as plant and construction systems.
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing specifications and determine materials, equipment, piping, capacities, and plant layouts for construction projects.
  • Plan, organise, and oversee project labour, materials delivery, and equipment logistics to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop and enforce standards and policies for installation, modification, quality assurance, testing, inspection, and maintenance in line with engineering principles and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment and systems perform at optimal levels.
  • Lead maintenance activities and coordinate the design, survey, and scheduling requirements for new systems and upgrades.
