About the Department for Correctional Services

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties

The Manager, Rehabilitation Programs will be responsible for providing leadership and clinical supervision to staff in the Rehabilitation Programs Branch and Program Services Unit. The position is responsible to the Director, Rehabilitation Services and maintains a high level of liaison with the Executive Director and senior staff of the Offender Development Directorate, and Senior Managers of other Directorates across DCS. The position is also responsible for maintaining productive working arrangements with custodial and case management staff from prison and community corrections; staff from the Aboriginal Services Directorate; and external stakeholders.

Special Conditions

  • Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
  • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
  • A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required;
    Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Requirements

Essential: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, or A degree in Social Work (eligible for registration with the AASW) and relevant training and experience in conducting comprehensive forensic assessment and intervention.

Desirable: Evidence of self-initiated continuing professional development such as higher qualifications.

Remuneration

AHP4: $118,887 - $129,427 plus Managerial Allowance.

Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
