It continues here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.Group Regulatory Affairs Department provides second line oversight and strategic advice regarding Regulatory requirements and compliance. They support the business to drive sound regulatory practice and maintain strong relationships with regulatory parties on behalf of the Bank (BEN).
The newly created Head of Regulatory Affairs position will report to the Chief Compliance & Financial Crime Officer (and MLRO).
As the Material risk owner for Regulatory Risk, you will:
- Lead the Regulatory Affairs team providing strategic advice on BEN's engagement with key regulators, primarily focused on APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC.
- Establish & maintain processes to ensure regulatory relationships are managed on a proactive basis.
- Ensure proactive management of regulatory risk, including connecting themes across regulators and anticipating areas of focus in the evolving regulatory environment.
- Provide strategic advice on key regulatory risks, issues and developments.
- Lead a team to provide subject matter expertise, guidance, review and challenge on regulatory engagements, including meetings, supervisory discussions, responses to Regulatory Reviews, thematic reviews, notices and information requests.
- Identify risks and provide insights for Executive and Board reporting on BEN's regulatory risk

This permanent full time role can be based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo, or Sydney.

What you'll bring to the roleTo succeed in this role, we'd love you to have:
- Subject matter expertise in the financial services regulation with experience in regulator relationships.
- 10 + years relevant experience that will enable successful performance in this role within the financial services sector.
- Ability to proactively communicate and engage on regulatory updates and insights to all levels of the organisation, from the Board, Executive to individual analysts in a clear, concise, and tailored manner.
- Ability to effectively bring together diverse teams and stakeholders to tackle complex regulatory challenges. Fostering collaboration and building consensus across different departments and external organisations.
- Authentic and inclusive leadership style.
- Attention to detail and execution quality.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications that are required for this role.
- A legal qualification will be highly regarded.
