Dishes are prepared using wood and charcoal grills, wood ovens, and steam kettles, imparting a tangible element of flavor and authenticity. Woodcut includes two beautifully appointed private rooms, Ironbark and Silver Ash, a Chef's Table, and numerous unique spaces for special events.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sommelier located in Sydney, NSW. The Sommelier will be responsible for managing the wine program, including wine pairing, wine sales, and wine inventory management. The role involves providing expert advice on wine selections, collaborating with the kitchen team on wine and food pairings, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The Sommelier will also assist with training staff on wine knowledge and service procedures, and will be involved in organizing wine-related events.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Wine Pairing and Wine Sales
  • Experience as a Sommelier and in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and wine service techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for wines and delivering excellent guest experiences
  • Certification or formal training as a Sommelier is a plus
