Full-Time Opportunity: Trainee Service Technician - Lifting & Safety Equipment

Location: Truganina, VIC

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're one of Australia's largest and most trusted providers of industrial lifting and safety solutions. With over 125 team members across 10 national locations, we supply high-performance lifting equipment, steel wire ropes, and height safety systems.

We also offer expert services including inspection, testing, assembly, maintenance, and on-site installation for clients across construction, infrastructure, mining, logistics, and renewable energy sectors.

About the Role

This full time perm role is perfect for someone who wants to develop technical skills in a hands-on environment. Working both in our Truganina workshop and occasionally on-site with clients, you'll be trained to inspect, test, assemble, and install lifting and height safety systems.

As a Trainee Service Technician, you'll learn to:

  • Inspect and test lifting, rigging, and height safety gear
  • Assemble hoisting and rigging systems
  • Assist with equipment installations
  • Maintain a safe and tidy workshop
  • Record results using digital systems and software
  • Support client service jobs (some future travel and weekend work available with penalty rates once fully trained)

You'll be fully supported with on-the-job training, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow into more advanced roles.

What We're Looking For

You don't need experience with lifting gear - just a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn a new trade.

To be considered, you'll need:

  • Experience in a physical or industrial environment (construction, manufacturing, logistics, etc.)
  • Confidence working with tools and on your feet throughout the day
  • Forklift (LF) License
  • A current, unrestricted driver's licence
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
  • Full work rights in Australia (no visa restrictions)
  • Openness to occasional overnight travel once qualified

It's a bonus if you have:

  • Experience with lifting, rigging, or height safety equipment
  • Exposure to inspection, mechanical testing, or crane operations
  • Forklift, Dogging, Rigging, or EWP licences
  • First Aid certificate
