About the Role

Join a major operatorship transition programme in the energy sector as a Senior Buyer. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of supply by purchasing spot equipment, materials, chemicals, and services across multiple business lines. This is a high-impact role for commercially astute professionals who thrive in fast-paced, complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process requisitions and convert to purchase orders daily in SAP/ERP systems
  • Source and obtain vendor quotations and proposals
  • Conduct basic negotiations on pricing and commercial terms
  • Proactively resolve purchase order, invoice, and goods receipt discrepancies across a high volume of up to 150 POs per month
  • Approve freight and additional charges in line with procurement controls
  • Support strategic procurement colleagues on major projects and turnarounds
  • Maintain purchase orders throughout the lifecycle (delivery dates, notes, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior Buyers
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders

About You

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, ideally in energy, engineering, or industrial sectors
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management and resolving transactional issues
  • Proficient in SAP or similar ERP procurement systems
  • Excellent communicator, able to liaise across operations, finance, and procurement
  • Strong attention to detail and a compliance mindset
  • Collaborative, organised, and able to manage a steady workload
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members is highly regarded
