Mobile Mechanical Coordinator – Lead Our Granny Smith Mobile Maintenance Team

Located 740km northeast of Perth and just 15km from the town of Laverton, Granny Smith Mine is a long-standing underground gold mining operation, proudly owned and operated by Gold Fields since 2013. The mine produces over 250,000 tonnes per annum and has a projected mine life of more than 10 years. As a cornerstone of our Western Australian operations, Granny Smith offers long-term stability with a strong focus on renewable energy, innovation, and modernisation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this diverse role will see you lead the way in driving people, safety, and performance across our underground mobile equipment fleet and dedicated crews. Backed by a support team, and values-driven organisation, you'll have the platform to make a meaningful impact and build a rewarding career with Gold Fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in PSI meetings and morning coordination meetings with the mining team
  • Validate and review maintenance data from the previous 24 hours to ensure accuracy and follow-up
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to prioritise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day support to maintenance personnel
  • Drive workforce planning, including involvement in recruitment and resourcing
  • Oversee and support the performance, wellbeing, and development of maintenance personnel
  • Manage performance, conduct disciplinary processes, and lead formal investigations as required
  • Conduct and support RCA for equipment failures and reliability issues
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety and compliance culture across all maintenance activities
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in safety, reliability, and team effectiveness

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Epiroc, CAT and Sandvik underground mining equipment
  • Exposure to maintenance planning and scheduling with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Well-developed computer skills, including desired experience in SAP, INX, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification
  • S26 Supervisor certification or verified eligibility and willingness to obtain in line with WHS requirements
