
Environment and Release Specialist

Hiring an Environment & Release Specialist to manage complex end-to-end environments and coordinate large-scale releases across applications and infrastructure. This role focuses on enhancing CI/CD processes, ensuring stability of Non-Production Environments, and aligning technical solutions with both project and BAU needs through close collaboration with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for effective environment management, ensuring that all environments are maintained at optimal performance levels.
- Oversee the deployment of new releases, ensuring that all changes are thoroughly tested and validated before implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the release process.
- Continuously improve release processes to enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
- Provide expert guidance and support to development teams on best practices for environment management and release processes.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and support software build and deployment activities.
- Support BAU team with application monitoring and issue resolution.
- Ensure environment security compliance and identify vulnerabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement in the release process.
- Perform work in a manner that complies with relevant regulatory standards including Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation.
Essentials
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3- 5 years of experience in environment and release management
- Strong understanding of environment management, maintenance, and complex large-scale releases.
- Experience with ITIL, including Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
- Experience in Release Management Industry Best Practise Processes and guidelines.
- Microsoft Azure DevOps or GitHub knowledge for release branch and automated code deployment across multiple streams.
- Previous IT experience across multiple technologies and platforms.
- Proficiency in CI/CD processes and tools.
- Strong people skills, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work autonomously.
Desirable (Any two)
- Experience in coordinating complex environment usage and alignment, managing endpoints, and ensuring environment stability and availability.
- Previous experience working with in Health/Health Insurance Industry.
- Proven track record in managing build and deployments, supporting deployment/release activities end-to-end.
- Ability to identify process & guideline improvements for ongoing uplift and maturity.
- Proficiency in scripting and updating build and deployments, running jobs in environments, and compliance and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Foundational knowledge of AWS and Azure products.
